Yesterday, Squamish RCMP said that rescue crews and the Coast Guard were looking for people who 'parachuted' off the Stawamus Chief.
At the time, police said on Twitter that the parties have yet to be identified and are believed to have landed in the water, but exited safely.
Crews were gathered around Nexen Beach for much of the morning.
A spokesperson from the Coast Guard clarified on Tuesday that their members were not deployed to the scene on Monday. Michelle Imbeau said that it was actually a crew from Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue — Station 4 Squamish that was searching the waters.
