What’s up with that smoke above the Highlands?

For those of you concerned about the smoke that seems to be coming from up above the Garibaldi Highlands, it seems like there’s nothing to fear.

Controlled burns are taking place above the Garibaldi Highlands, according to a map from the BC Wildfire Service.

District of Squamish spokesperson Christina Moore says officials believe this is the source of the smoke that residents are seeing.
