TORONTO — Police in Durham Region say they’ve arrested a Toronto man after he allegedly pretended to be a teenager in order to have a relationship with a 13-year-old girl.

Police say the 29-year-old man met the victim on Snapchat, where he allegedly posed as a 15-year-old boy to befriend the girl, and the two later met in person.

Investigators say the relationship eventually became physical.

Police say the victim contacted them after information came to light suggesting her boyfriend was an adult man.

They are concerned there might be additional victims.

Police say the suspect is facing several charges, including sexual assault and luring a person under 16, and he was held for a bail hearing.
