Editor,

As a nine-year Squamish resident and business owner, I have been intently watching and participating in the six-year process of the maturation of an incredible plan for the Oceanfront lands.

The ability for the public to have input throughout this process has been more than ample and it has resulted in a well-balanced development plan.

This plan will have a dramatic impact on the downtown. The downtown is on the cusp of becoming the mountain town we all envision.

The Oceanfront will link the downtown to what is one of Squamish's greatest assets and create a very unique social hub which will combine a vibrant core and the ocean.

This development will also continue to strengthen the revitalization and vision of where Squamish is going in the future.

Tourism will continue to be the driving force in our local economy and my business and many others rely on this strong identity.

Squamish is already one of the most uniquely situated towns in Canada and I always love to brag that we are also an Oceanfront community.

Seeing these plans come to fruition will warrant the boasting and will allow the community to enjoy it as it should be.

No plans of this magnitude will ever be perfect to everyone. Small adjustments can and will be made as the Squamish Oceanfront development moves forward and that's just what it needs to do, it has earned the right to move forward.
