EDITOR,
I am very concerned about the removal of land from the Squamish Chief Provincial Park for development.
If there is to be consideration of removing land from Class A parks, it should only be after thorough public review by B.C. Parks and independent public meetings where balanced information about the proposalpresented and public opinion sought.
The Stawamus Chief is a Class A provincial park, and this gondola proposal deviates from the planned uses of the park outlined in its Master Plan. All of us who love the Chief deserve a publicsay in the park's future. Allowing this development by Sea to Sky Gondola Corp. to go forward should be reviewed through public hearings.
This sets a dangerous precedent of removal oflands from Class A parksfor development without public consultation.
