Consider attending the Memory Tree Celebration at On the Farm Market on Mamquam Road tomorrow evening, Friday (Nov. 28) at 6 p.m., when the Memory Tree will be lit and reflected on loved ones who have passed. This annual tradition is co-hosted by the Squamish Hospice Society and the Squamish Funeral Chapel. The evening includes Christmas caroling while enjoying warm drinks. The society is a registered non-profit organization and your generous donations ensure that is can continue to offer free bereavement programs and hospice care to the dying and their families in the Sea to Sky Corridor.

The Women’s Auxiliary to Squamish General Hospital holds its annual Christmas Bazaar and Raffle on Saturday, Nov. 29 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Squamish United Church on Fourth Avenue. Members have been knitting, sewing and craft making with gift-giving in mind. Christmas baking and more will fill the tables and before you leave, pause for a coffee and donut. Raffle winners will be drawn at noon with the cash prizes of $300, $200 and $100. All proceeds from this event go towards purchasing medical equipment for the hospital.

The 19th Eagle Watch season for the Squamish Eagle Watch interpreters begins on Saturday, Nov. 29 with the opening ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Brackendale dike Eagle Run viewing location on Government Road. Starting on Nov. 30, Eagle Watch volunteers will be on the dike each weekend, through to some time in February from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. During the Christmas holiday period, volunteers will be on hand to share their expertise. The Sea to Sky Singers will be presenting The Glory of Christmas featuring Gloria by Vivaldi and performances will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. in St. John’s Anglican Church. Local soloists include soprano Teira Andreef, Naomi Radawiec and Eliza Carter. The choir is in the capable hands of director Veronica McPhee, assistant director Aaron Purdie and new accompanist Sydney Sproul. The performances will also include the traditional sing-along and carols.
