The British Columbia/Yukon of the Royal Canadian Legion is sponsoring a youth singing competition.
The winners will sing O Canada and Amazing Grace at the BC Lions half-time show on Friday (Nov. 7) during the Legion’s Salute to Veterans and Military Valour. The legion wants to showcase the talents of choirs and soloists. To apply, create a Youtube account and sing with passion O Canada and Amazing Grace. Cedar Valley Waldorf School, located at 38265 Westway Ave. in Valleycliffe, is seeking volunteers for Saturday (Aug. 23) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help ready the school for September. Come out for a couple hours or come for the day! Work projects include light carpentry, yard work, painting and general clean-up. No experience is required, and lunch and snacks are provided.
