When Canada Day is upon us the flag comes out in force, which is good. But where is it the rest of the year. You would be hard pressed to find it flying in Squamish.
Canadian businesses such as banks, grocery chains, big box stores can’t afford to fly the flag? And not some limp little 2x2 thing, but a proper flag.
Squamish is not the only place guilty of this. It has been bothering me for two years after my last trip the U.S., I noticed no flags after the border, at all. While one might say American’s overdo it, we certainly underdo the flying of the Canadian flag. Urge downtown to fly the flag. Come on chain stores, let’s do this.
