EDITOR,
The pot "mess" is only a mess because of the constant ideology of the federal government ("Pot 'mess' letter nixed," Chief, Feb. 13). They keep finding ways to make pot availability difficult. Their basic belief is they don't want it at all but when pushed, they say it is OK if taxed and grown by people who we want in the business. As to who should pay for the "cleanup" of closing down small personal operations, the answer is "no one." There is no reason to control it at all. That we have found a reason to have it, even under the pretend guise of medical marijuana, is just an excuse for widespread use. Not that that was needed, for it was already in widespread production. All restrictions in the first place are fake decisions.
There has never been a reason, except phony morality, for making it illegal. All such laws need to be cancelled.
