Perhaps the official ceremonies (starting at 10:45 a.m.) for Canada Day will be over by the time you read The Chief today, but there is ongoing entertainment at Pavilion Park in downtown Squamish for all the family. The Royal Canadian Legion will be open Canada Day from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., offering special deals on food and drink. This will also be the last day to sign the large Canadian flag to send to our troops in Kabul, Afghanistan. Come and join the celebration at the Legion in the Garibaldi Shopping Centre (near the movie theatre).

Those hazards could be uneven sidewalks and paths, long hanging branches, lack of stair handrails, poor lighting and more. The pamphlets are available at the Seniors Centre, Health Centre, Municipal Hall and Brennan Park Recreation Centre.
