EDITOR,
My grandmother and I entered the Post Office after a holiday weekend to find a very long lineup. My grandmotherwas visibly uncomfortable and even somewhat aggravated trying to hold herself up with the support of only her walker. I was unable to bring her wheelchair as it has become too heavy for me to lift at sixth months pregnant. Not a chair was to be found in the post office to relieve my grandmother during our long wait. We gazed longingly at the seven or so people in front of us - do you think perhaps one of these good Samaritans might offer to let the disabled senior and pregnant woman go ahead of them in line? Noooo way, each of these "good Samaritans" looked at the wall, looked at the floor, looked anywhere but at us - as if by not seeing us then we don't exist. How lucky they all are to have such agility how sad it is that they do not share their good fortune by having consideration for the less able persons.
