Don't be fooled, voters

EDITOR,

Re. "Lying Libs and the HST," Letters, Chief, July 1).

I get a real kick out of these NDP people that try to muddy up the water by trying to bring other issues that belong to another forum. BCR or other things (and there are other issues) will be addressed in the provincial election where they belong. The question is about HST - are we in support or against. We have the people pro-NDP and a party who has never met a tax it never liked telling us the tax is the worst yah, right. Does anyone really think if we turn this tax down, our government will stop spending or live on less? Are we really naïve enough to believe our government will fire their assistants, cut their salaries and all the rest of their perks? No, I don't have to look into a crystal ball to figure this out - hospital beds will close, classrooms will close and other things that will cause the most pain to the public. Taxation is a fact of life and the government is going to collect the tax one way or the other, at least in this case it is a separate line item and I can know how much it is. By the way, how many people know what the taxes are on a litre of gas? HST is 10 per cent.

I will support the tax. Don't be fooled and vote on issues that we aren't voting on.
