The following was sent to the District of Squamish was copied to The Chief for publication.
I was parked in front of Billie's Boutique this afternoon. There were rose petals on the sidewalk as decoration. I did my errands and came back and the shops employees were sweeping the petals up. (I had just seen the bylaw lady go around the corner.)
I told the ladies how pretty it looked, they said others have said the same thing. Tell that to the bylaw lady. She told them to sweep it up. Lots of flower shops in Vancouver do that, I've seen it over the 20-odd years I lived there.
I thought Squamish wanted to think of itself as an up-and-coming place to live, not a place of anal retentives. If this is what our taxes are going to (for wages) then don't you dare increase them.
