The monthly birthday celebration at Hilltop House will be held on Wednesday (March 21) at 2 p.m. when Hazel Balison and Azizah Tahery will be honoured.

The Squamish Food Bank will distribute grocery hampers on Wednesday (March 21) from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Alano Club on Third Avenue.

Between Shifts Theatre is looking forward to performing the comedy "Cemetery Club" on March 22, 23, 24 and on March 29, 30 and 31 at 8 p.m. at the Eagle Eye Theatre. The Cemetery Club is directed by Judi Price along with producers Liz Gruber and Kathy Daniels. The cast includes Gruber, Daniels, Skai Stevenson, Janice Hayden and Carla Fuhre. Tickets are $20 each and available at Billie's Flower Shop and the Squamish Adventure Centre.

A fundraising garage sale in support of the Squamish Nation lacrosse program will be held at the Totem Hall on Saturday (March 17) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Last weekend, one of the bands performing at the Celtic Festival in Vancouver was our own talented Jocelyn Pettit Band. Way to go Jocelyn!

Take in a night at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #277 on Monday (March 19) with doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Hey guys: Do consider signing up for the men's free fitness class sampler at the Seniors Centre on Wednesday (March 21) at 12:15 p.m. Also, a dance-and-stretch free sampler will be held at the Centre at 1:30 p.m. on March 21. The centre is looking for an instructor to teach a woodworking workshop. Anyone interested is asked to call (604) 848-6898.

On Saturday (March 17), a St. Patrick's Day concert featuring The Arrogant Worms guarantees music and laughter at the Brackendale Art Gallery starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at Xocolatl and the Gallery at $25 each.

Women. Influence. Our World! Is the theme of the 30th Anniversary Gala for the Howe Sound Women's Centre (HSWC) and will feature dynamic speaker and humanitarian Stephen Lewis. The event will take place in the CN Conference Centre at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park on Saturday, April 14, at 7 p.m. The celebration of serving women and children over these many years in the Sea to Sky Corridor is a milestone for the centre. Tickets at $75 each are available by calling the HSWC at (604) 892-5748 or drop by the centre on Third Avenue.

The next bus trip for seniors is planned for Thursday (March 29) to the Boulevard Casino in Coquitlam. Please call Elaine at (604) 898-5463 by Friday (March 23) if planning to attend.

The Royal Canadian Legion Diamond Head Branch #277 is sponsoring a St. Paddy's Day meat draw on Saturday (March 17) at 3:30 p.m. Plan to stay for a delicious supper of stew, Irish soda bread and dessert all for just $7 each. The evening will end with a fun event: a karaoke night!

The Over the Hill Hikers will meet on Tuesday (March 20) at 9 a.m. at the Adventure Centre for a trip to West Vancouver and a Nelson Canyon Loop hike. For more information, call Heather at (604) 892-9003.
