EDITOR,
I read, with interest, the rationale used by council to award the 2012 paving contract to Alpine Paving. I agree that it is important to keep residents working and local businesses viable.
Shouldn't the same rationale apply when the district is considering building a gym at the civic centre?
Are the owners of our local gyms, and the people who are employed there, not just as worthy as Alpine Paving and its employees?
Just a thought.
