The Sea to Sky Gondola project is an amazing opportunity for Squamish on so many levels. Working in human resources, I see talented individuals with a lot to offer Squamish that take their knowledge and skills to either Whistler or Vancouver 240 days a year.
We need to get serious about transitioning towards a tourism-based economy as this is where the new jobs are. The 30-plus jobs that the Sea to Sky Gondola will bring to Squamish are just the beginning when it comes to building a knowledge-based industry in Squamish. You only have to look at our neighbours to the north where companies employee hundreds of career professionals in the tourism industry.
Moving this gondola project forward means moving us one big step closer to industry that is going to support the amazing, talented group of people that live in and want to work in Squamish.
