EDITOR,

As a resident of West Vancouver I sadly know Squamish mostly as a place a drive through to and from Whistler. But a natural attraction such as the Sea to Sky Gondola could easily get me, and many, many others, to be regular visitors.

I recently had the good fortune of participating in a facilitated discussion in Squamish, concerning the Sea to Sky Gondola project. Leaders of the project were there, as well as members of the Squamish Nation, outdoor recreationalists, and other members of the community.

I must say I was deeply impressed by this project and am eager to see it come to fruition. Spanning, as it does, a gravel pit at the base and a logged section up the mountain, it provides residents and visitors with a breathtaking, easy, and environmentally responsible way of "leaping" up into some of the most beautiful territory in the world. This is so much better for the environment than any of the other ways that people eager to get into the backcountry use. And it is accessible to anyone.

I do hope you will provide your support to this worthy endeavour.
