EDITOR,
I am a 62-year-old woman from Ontario visiting Squamish. I climbed The Chief recently, my first-ever climb. It was on my bucket list. I was alone, but followed some younger people up the trail. I got to the top of the First Peak, alone, on the south side, turned around, sat down, looked around, and panicked! You see, I am afraid of heights and I was terrified. I was alone. The wind was blowing. I was trying to psych down and try to think clearly. Then it was like one of those movies when a human angel comes along out of nowhere. Her name is Camille Nonis, a university student, she lives in Squamish somewhere behind Canadian Tire. If anyone knows her, could you please tell her how much it means to me that she took the time to guide me down the path?
