Dear Chief readers,
Thank you so much for granting me the Readers' Choice Award in the "most environmentally-conscious" category - I feel honoured by your selection and grateful for your attention; you are obviously interested in issues that I am passionate about.
You have picked up that I feel very strongly about the health of our environment. I'd like to share with you that it is simply quality of life that drives me. Quality of life is made up of environmental, social and economic aspects - it is like a three-legged wooden stool; take one leg out, and the stool falls to the ground. And there is no cheap or easy fix to this; we have to learn that the three legs need to be the same length.
The entire world, our country and our community are all strewn with fallen stools; I'd say we need to wake up the carpenter in me and you. It is a good thing to be environmentally aware, socially inclined or crazy about the economy; in this day and age, though, we all have to become the three things in one - the current state of affairs clearly shows that there is no other way around that.
Thank you so much again; now, let's put our collective spirit level to work.
