It was with dismay that I read the Aug. 7 front page showing a picture of "Elvis" birling at Loggers Sports with the headline of Dr. Laverne Kindree being awarded the Order of Canada - the highest civilian award in our country.
With all of Dr. Kindree's accomplishments and dedication to our community, surely he deserved his picture on the front page, not relegated to page three?
While I appreciate the importance and history of Loggers Sports, having both participated and sponsored this event through the years, I feel that it would have been more fitting to acknowledge the day-to-day efforts, which have lead to the culmination of our community doctor receiving Canada's highest honour.
I give a heartfelt thank you and congratulations to Dr. and Mrs. Laverne Kindree.
