Letter: Bowling green destroyed through neglect

To the mayor, council and Parks and Recreation management: If it was your intention to virtually discourage and stop the use of the lawn bowling on the bowling court, congratulations. You have succeeded.

To the mayor, council and Parks and Recreation management: If it was your intention to virtually discourage and stop the use of the lawn bowling on the bowling court, congratulations. You have succeeded.

If not, what are you doing about it?

I am certain you will not celebrate your success in front of the taxpayers you represent and whose assets you are sworn to protect and maintain. The bowling green was part of the agreement between council and the builder of the Squamish Seniors Centre and handed over to you when finished.

The Rotary Club furnished benches and shelters. Thank you very much.

And you, through neglect of maintenance, have rendered it unplayable. Are you proud of your achievement?

I and several other seniors have played on the green for several years and have actively tried to recruit new players, but we have stopped now.
