Letter: Enough with WLNG

I can no longer take it when it comes to the LNG topic at Woodfibre or for that matter within this province. It’s time for a timeout on the topic. How about a three month timeout? I for one am sitting on the fence when it comes to LNG.

I for one am sitting on the fence when it comes to LNG. LNG has its good points and bad points. But the ongoing relentless advertising from the LNG side is just enough.

Both sides do not know all the facts and must realize this. Both sides think they know what is best for our town and the environment. But do they?

Both sides need to respect each others’ opinions. For the most part, from what I have read, they don’t.

We need to stop all this bashing. It is starting to get really ugly. The LNG topic in this town is starting to turn friends against each other. We need to stop this.

When it come to the group My Sea to Sky, they need to stop focusing on just one topic and start looking at other topics that have an environmental impact in our area.

So this is what I propose : I am asking for a timeout. A timeout on all advertising on LNG in our town. Yes, I know the Woodfibre LNG people are spending their not hard-earned money on advertising, but we just need to have a break. I am asking the groups like My Sea to Sky and No to LNG in Squamish to give it a break for a while. I am asking all media outlets in this town to stop publishing and talking about the LNG issue.

I respect the fact that yes we do live in Canada and have the freedom of speech, but enough is enough.

We must let the chips fall where fall.
