Murray Gamble's letter in your Aug. 12 edition ("Regional transit in the making") errs slightly in its description of West Vancouver's Blue Bus transit system in stating that it is "independent from TransLink." In fact, West Vancouver operates Blue Bus under contract to TransLink, which is responsible for the system's routes and schedules, and for providing the buses used in the fleet.
Blue Bus is excellently run, enjoying among the best customer service ratings in the region and is an historic and important part of TransLink's integrated transit network in Metro Vancouver. Being integrated with this network allows Blue Bus passengers to easily transfer to and from the rest of the system, including Coast Mountain buses, SeaBus and the three SkyTrain lines.
