Hockeyville is not necessarily the saviour one thinks it could be for Squamish hockey. I knew some of the people involved when Terrace won Hockeyville. They initially had lots of plans for the money, but the sad truth of it is that much of the money gets earmarked for making the rink NHL ‘legal' for the players [for the NHL game that the winning town hosts]. Terrace needed upgrades to change rooms and facilities, but not much was left over after rink upgrades.
So wipe away those tears. It isn't the loss you may think it is.
