Letter: Lock us down to stop COVID-19, please

I’m writing to you because I have an idea that might help. I think either all of B.C. or part of B.C. should go on lockdown for a few weeks so COVID cases would go down faster.

My name is Lauren Bloom, and I am a Grade 6 student at Squamish Elementary School. I want to say thank you for working hard to keep everyone safe during the pandemic.

Here’s my idea of what the lockdown would look like: don’t allow vacationers from outside of B.C., only allow a very limited number of people in grocery stores and other businesses, online school (no in-person classes), and outdoor hand sanitizing stations.

I know lockdowns are hard, but if we all do it for a few weeks, hopefully, it will make a big difference. It would be great to have a normal summer this year.

Thank you for everything you’re doing,

Lauren Bloom
