Thank you to the dog owners who have decided to decorate the town of Squamish and many of its beautiful hiking trails with green bags full of dog waste.
If you can take the time to bag it, take the time to dispose of it appropriately.
Dog waste left on the trail will dry out and become part of the soil.
Dog waste in a green bag hanging from a tree limb or laying on the ground will be around a long time. On the way in to the estuary the other day I counted 11 bags of waste in less than 100 yards and two piled beside the trail sign.
Take your bags home and decorate your own yards!
