Regarding the not hiring temporary foreign workers for the proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant as we have workers available here: The availability of workers is not the issue, as prices of LNG have decreased dramatically. Temporary foreign workers will work for less.
Woodfibre LNG vice-president Byng Giraud has said he must cut costs to make this profitable. Tell me a simple cost to cut. It would be so easy for him to deny saying anything about temporary foreign workers or say his remarks were taken out of context, but will he put it in writing that no temporary foreign worker will be hired, or will he not? Put it writing for the municipality to enforce.
