Re: “Stories of abuse emerge at Squamish meeting” (March 3): I was sad to see the negative title on the story covering the Evening Celebrating Reconciliation. I was at the evening last Monday, and I came away thinking the focus was a positive and energized call to move forward and build community together.
There was also recognition for the strong participation and work the Squamish Nation has contributed to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. I understand that part of the Commission is to voice the truth in order to achieve reconciliation.But the event didn’t “include a call for action” as the article’s subtitle suggests, the event was about a call for action.
