As 2017 draws to a close, the Squamish Hospital Foundation would like to thank our donors, sponsors and volunteers who have made this another successful year.
The goal of the Squamish Hospital Foundation is to ensure the highest quality of healthcare be available at the Squamish General Hospital, Hilltop House and in the Community. We aim to keep care local.
Through the support of our donors in 2017, the Foundation was able to complete the purchase of two OMNI cells, state of the art devices used to ensure patient safety in respect to medication dispensing.
As well, supporting the Squamish Hospice Society by contributing $144,000 to the construction of the Sea to Sky Hospice, which will be located between the Hospital and Hilltop House.
As we look forward to 2018, the Foundation will be partnering with Vancouver Coastal Health to bring new ultrasound technology to the hospital. These new machines will increase the types of diagnostic imaging that can be done locally in Squamish – from pre-natal ultrasounds to echocardiograms.
The Foundation is looking to the community of Squamish to support the purchase of these machines and keep care local for all.
Finally, the Board of Directors of the Squamish Hospital Foundation would like to thank two of our retiring directors – George McKenzie and Paul Wick – for their contributions to the Foundation over the years. We are also welcoming two new board members – Dr. Kim MacDonald and Paul Lalli. Without our volunteers, including our board, the Foundation would not be able to provide the support of healthcare in our community.
