Letter: There should have been no vaccine mandates

'There should have been no calling of the Emergencies Act because there should have been no Trucker Convoy or no vaccine mandate.'

"When B.C. vaccine passport went into play, it was already known that the vaccine did not stop transmission," says letter-writer.

Since the COVID vaccine campaigns began in late 2020, we have been hammered with the message that we have a duty to get vaccinated to protect other people.

This was so important that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau forked over $1 billion to the provinces and territories to create the vaccine passports. These “passports” effectively prevented the unvaxxed from participating in society. Trudeau also introduced the vaccine travel mandates based on the premise that this is a “pandemic of the unvaccinated.”  It was the misogynist, bigoted science deniers who refused to get vaccinated that were spreading the virus, according to Trudeau.

Unfortunately for him, it is on public record that when Trudeau implemented the travel vaccine mandate on Oct. 30, 2021, it was already known that the vaccines did not stop the spread. On Aug. 5, 2021, the head of the US CDC, Dr. Rochelle Wolensky announced, “What they (vaccines) can’t do anymore is prevent transmission.”

Likewise, when B.C. vaccine passport went into play, it was already known that the vaccine did not stop transmission.

Last week, in the European Parliament, when Pfizer was asked about the ability of the vaccine to stop the spread, they stated that the vaccine was never tested to see if it prevented transmission.

What we know about the vaccines is, despite 83% of the population being vaccinated, at least 86% of  Canadians have been infected at least once with the COVID virus.

As it became apparent that the vaccine was not stopping people from contracting COVID or preventing transmissions, the term “breakthrough infections” was invented. Then that was dropped, and the new story was that the vaccine only “lessens the severity” of COVID.

What evidence is offered up that the vaccine “lessens” the severity? Omicron could simply be a less serious variant, and the lower death and hospitalization rates reflect this. This is an explanation based on science. It is common that as a virus mutates, it generally becomes less virulent. So it was reasonable to believe that COVID would mutate to become less dangerous.

And the data bear this out. Publication after publication state Omicron is simply less dangerous than the previous variants. Do people not know this?

There are many references to Omicron being less virulent than the previous variants. For example, from National Geographic or from the New York Times.

Forgive me, but at this point, I am going to ask to see some hard evidence before I believe any more government or corporate claims.

At no time during the initial rollout of the vaccines were we told that this is a new type of vaccine that does not stop you from contracting the disease and does not stop the spread. There was no hint that this vaccine would be anything less than awesome. No one was saying that the vaccine only “lessens the severity” of COVID.

This was made up as the vaccine failed to protect against the new variants. Rather than wake up to the truth, the people dutifully repeated the new mantra.

This brings us to the inquiry on the Emergencies Act. The outcome is most likely a foregone conclusion: Trudeau will not be held accountable.

But before we even go there, there should have been no calling of the Emergencies Act because there should have been no Trucker Convoy because there should have been no vaccine mandate.
