LETTER: What about taxpayer savings?

In response to the article “District of Squamish Streamlines Management Structure,” Aug. 25, 2016. I read with great interest, and maybe a new respect for our mayor, that the district wants to increase the efficiency of some departments. The fly in this ointment – the article failed to mention the savings to be passed on to the taxpayer. My question is, what exactly is the benefit for the taxpayer?

I see new portable trailers filled to capacity with any space these staff vacated filled. Our elected officials are supposed to be employees of the electorate and looking after the taxpayers needs and desires not to be fulfilling some personal agenda. Is this nothing more than putting “lipstick on a pig”?
