Re: “Bylaw in works to ban garburators in Squamish,” Jan. 21. With the proposed ban of garburators, Squamish is embarking down a very slippery slope. Maybe a better informed public will make the choice not to use a garburator, but under no circumstance is it correct for our mayor and council to dictate to the public and take away our choice. Are they to have a special police squad to enforce this or do we have children reporting parents? While council is at it, maybe it’s time for thought police, a very bad idea but not unexpected.
The council and the bureaucrats are pushing into areas they shouldn’t go.
