I did a little math on the info from letter “Woodfibre LNG will create hundreds of jobs” (Oct. 23) and the statement: “During operation, Woodfibre LNG will create 100-plus local jobs and an additional 330-plus local jobs in indirect and induced employment.”
In reference to the number of non-construction jobs that Woodfibre LNG would create as local jobs, this means 0.5 per cent to 2 per cent of total current population of 19,000.
Also, these numbers are suggesting that residents are all qualified for those 100 operational jobs. So 0.5 per cent of Squamish residents will have decent full-time permanent work?
