I would like to comment on two semi-related issues from the April 11 edition of the Optimist.
Firstly, a tunnel verses a bridge. I don’t think the bridge proponents have considered the impact a bridge and the accompanying infrastructure would have on Ladner.
The previous government stated that the bridge option would be as large or larger than the Port Mann and Alex Fraser bridges. Living in that shadow would be the end of Ladner as we know it now.
Secondly, isn’t it time we stepped away from naming our bridges and tunnels after political hacks when we could take the opportunity to make money by selling the naming rights to corporations like Telus or Bell or Apple?
