The Squamish Public Library is sponsoring an Introduction to Genealogy workshop on Thursday (Sept. 4) from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Diane Rogers is the editor of the B.C. Genealogical Society and she will be in attendance. The society has been helping members since 1971.
The Squamish Food Bank will open its doors for grocery distribution on Wednesday (Sept. 3) from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Gardeners with fresh produce to donate are asked to take them to the Alano Club on Third Avenue between 9 and 11 a.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 3).

Programs happening at the Squamish Seniors Centre the first week in September include crib on Tuesday (Sept. 2), paint and sketch begins Sept. 3, and carpet bowling on Friday (Sept. 5).

Fall is definitely in the air, as the Squamish Quilter’s Guild will commence monthly gatherings again.
The group will meet in the Sandman Hotel on Wednesday (Sept. 3) at 9 a.m. when members will work on their own projects. New and interested members will receive a warm welcome.

The Women’s Auxiliary to the Squamish General Hospital will have a booth at the annual Brackendale Fall Fair on Sept. 6, and members will be selling raffle tickets for their Christmas bazaar to be held in November.
The cash prizes are $300, $200 and $100, and tickets are also available at the gift shop in the hospital.
