Memorable summer

EDITOR,

I spent my summer working for Sea to Sky Community Services. I have been working with a group of adults with developmental disabilities, enhancing their summer activity and community involvement.

While of course there were moments of hard work, what really stands out to me was how much fun we had, especially on trips. Whether it was swimming at Alice Lake, bowling in Burnaby or even go-karting in Richmond, the group had a blast spending time together. We went on a wide variety of trips both in and out of town, so everyone found a few trips that they particularly enjoy.

I'll never forget the sense of community and helpfulness I got from the group. Everyone took turns volunteering to help with different chores or jobs during an activity or class. Furthermore, the group shared a positive attitude and a great enthusiasm for everyday activities that sometimes everyone takes for granted. The group also had a strong sense of support and acceptance for each other and everyone they encountered, which I found especially inspiring.

As I head back to university, I'll bring some great memories with me.
