EDITOR,

Where are all thebylaw officers? Do we even have any in Squamish? I have seen the vehicles but never seen a person. I have also seen a lot of people breaking bylaws but no one writing tickets ordoing anything about it. Yes, we have what I would say one of the biggest problems with people breaking bylaws with nothing being done about it. We have all seen or stepped in the bad problem we have with people and their dogs. We hear people say, "It's only one or two that wreck it for the rest," but if you do any walking in this town, you know it's a lot more than just one or two as well as people that don't keep their dogs on a leash. You see it all over town. If I see it, why doesn't the bylaw officer? So many bikers with their dogs running after them. Have you ever seen one get off his or her bike to scoop up what their dog has left behind?? And what about the leash? I would like to pick and choose the laws I want to listen to, too.

As well as parking on sidewalks: With all the new homes and condos going in,I thought, "What a good idea that now they have to put in sidewalks, making it so much easier for us that walk." But wouldn't you know it? Some people think that these nice new sidewalks are for them to park on - see Honey Lane as well as others. Again, where are the bylaw officers?

Last but not least, fire hydrants. Are we allowed to park in front of them? Is there a bylaw that says no, or is that just common sense? See the one on Depot Road. Again, where are the bylaw officers? If there are none or not enough to get the job done? I could use a good job as I am sure others would love a good government job. Maybe that's what they can bring up about Squamish on TV -the town with no bylaws, or the town with too much poop.
