More than a McDonald's

This would create a huge amount of jobs for Squamish residents, generate a ton of tax revenue, and could only help local business with the increase in revenue from more people being around.

I really cannot see any reason other than environmental ones to prove this is bad.

From an economic standpoint, this would be a very smart move for Squamish.

There is so much negativity towards any positive development in Squamish until it is finished. Look at the protests and outrage before Wal Mart, and how everyone was up in arms about all the housing and condos being built, and the development happening in Garibaldi Village.

Yet when it's done, nothing is heard because it does nothing but help the community. All of these projects only help further the community economically and improve the outlook of our town from a world standpoint.

Squamish can either embrace positive development, or be a McDonald's between Whistler and Vancouver forever.
