The second annual Night Market at the park takes place tomorrow night (Friday, Aug. 15) from 5 to 9 p.m. at Stan Clarke Park in downtown Squamish. The evening will include 20 vendors who will exhibit local and handmade products. Enjoy the vintage lamps placed around the park courtesy of artists Brett Easton, and Elisa Langenstam will have poems and shells hanging in the trees. This fun, open-air party features live music, delicious food and activities for the children, including face painting.
A traditional Chinese Medicine workshop takes place at the Squamish Public Library tonight (Thursday, Aug. 14) at 7 p.m. This will be an introduction to acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Lecturer Andrea Lamont has her Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine. The lecture will provide a forum for the audience to ask questions.

The Squamish Food Bank Society will hold its annual general meeting in the Alano Club on Third Avenue on Tuesday (Aug. 19) from 6 to 7 p.m. Also, the next distribution date for the Food Bank will be on Wednesday (Aug. 20) from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Alano Club.

The Squamish Public Library is pleased to offer a feature-length documentary telling the story of jockey Ron Turcotte, who, along with his legendary horse Secretariat, won the prestigious American Triple Crown in 1973. Follow Turcotte’s rise to fame, the fall in 1978 that left him a paraplegic and his emotional journey back to the people and places that marked his life. The date is Thursday (Aug. 21) at 6:30 p.m.
