Parking concerns voiced

EDITOR,

Recently an overzealous Alice Lake park employee would not allow the Tantalus Seniors Walking Group to parallel park on the north side of the road east of the full Stump Lake parking lot on a Thursday morning. There is no sign to indicate "no parking," unlike the other side of the road, which we acknowledged. There was plenty of room for cars and service vehicles to access the work yard. Cars were able to park on the mentioned side during the winter months to allow residents to winter hike, skate and sleigh ride. Does the parking lot need to be enlarged, or do we need to allow more flexibility? Where are the tourists and residents to park in the busy summer months?
