Squamish folks seem to be a hard-working bunch

Squamish folks seem to be a hard-working bunch. More than half of respondents to our online poll earlier this month said they, "I always go above and beyond what is asked of me."

The Squamish Chief polled 177 readers and asked the question: How do you rate your work ethic on the job?

According to Indeed, the job listing site: "Employers appreciate candidates who possess a strong work ethic because they can be a positive influence on their coworkers. Having a team of people with a good work ethic is also desirable because an employer is more likely to achieve their company goals, and they don't have to spend time micromanaging their employees.

The poll ran from 1/14/2023 to 1/28/2023. Of the 177 votes, we can determine that 74 are from within the community. The full results are as follows:

I always go above and beyond what is asked of me 52.70 % local, 54.24 % total
I sometimes go above and beyond what is asked of me 40.54 % local, 36.16 % total
I rarely go above and beyond what is asked of me 5.41 % local, 6.78 % total
I never above and beyond what is asked of me 1.35 % local, 2.82 % total
  Local   Total

Results are based on an online study of adult Squamish Chief readers that are located in Squamish. The margin of error - which measures sample variability - is +/- 7.33%, 19 times out of 20.

The Squamish Chief uses a variety of techniques to capture data, detect and prevent fraudulent votes, detect and prevent robots, and filter out non-local and duplicate votes.
