RCMP face off against firefighter tonight

The young man who will benefit from this game will be 26 year-old Nick Miller who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia last September. There are great prizes to be won, including signed Vancouver Canucks jerseys. Admission is by donation.

The Howe Sound Secondary Graduating class of 2010 is holding a fundraiser for Dry grad 2010 with a Burger and Suds and silent auction at the Grizzly Bar and Grill on Saturday, March 27 from 5 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and are available by email to Carole O'Brennan at [email protected].

The Grand Opening Ceremony for the Squamish Renaissance Retirement REsidence will be held on Friday, March 26 at 2 p.m. at 38225 Third Avenue. Following the ceremony, refreshments will be served.

Squamish CAN (Climate Action Network) is presenting another free climate change movie night at the Adventure Centre on March 22 at 7 p.m. to view Build Green, Save Green - True or False?

Tomorrow evening (March 20) at 7 p.m. the Black Tusk Caledonia Pipe and Drum Band along with guests Celtic Sensation, talented fiddle player Jocelyn Pettit and world class piper Alan Walters and friends will bring a definite Scottish flavour to the Brackendale ARt Gallery. On Thursday (March 23) at 7 p.m., join Patricia Heintzman at the Art Gallery as she shares her travel experience through Vietnam from Halong Bay to the Mekong Delta. Admission is by donation.

The next soup and sandwich day at the Squamish Seniors' Centre is Thrusday (March 25) at 12 noon. Tickets are now on sale at $7 for members and $8 for non-members. A follow-up to Manage your Medications will be held on Thursday (March 25) from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Seniors' Centre when Stephanie Moccia, Care Pharmacist for Vancouver Coastal Health will personally discuss your medications with you. On Saturdays March 20 and 27, the Squamish Hospice Society will be selling raffle tickets and Save-On-Foods from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a beautiful quilt made by the Squamish Quilting Guild. The draw will be held on Hike for Hospice on May 2.
