EDITOR,

I would like to say Eagle feather thank yous to The Chief ("Squamish Remembers," photo essay, Nov. 14) for sharing our event, and to other community members that have helped this event. The First Nations Gathering Remembrance Day Pow-wow was at Totem Hall and shared by many community members from near and far. Thanks to Master of Ceremonies, Ray Thunderchild, Arena Director Tony Discon, speakers Elder Bob Baker, Coun. Dale Harry, Seislom, Roll Call Stewart Gonzales, and many other speakers, and to Greg Gardner and Squamish Nation Donated Funds. Thanks to five drum groups: Rocky Pine, Cascade, Oceanside Dakota, Four Fires, and Riley Joe. Feast was cooked by Rosanne and Earl George, desert cake Wayne and Marlan Baker, lots of smoked salmon by Rod Sr. and Bernie Billy, bannock by Harriet Prince and Brian Ford, donated special art work dance and Nadine Baker sponsored Tiny Tots.
