Another performance will be held in St. John's Anglican Church tomorrow (May 8) at 3 p.m. The 40-member choir is looking forward to presenting this musical as they have been in rehearsals since January. The fifth annual Flea Market sponsored by the Squamish Lions Club will be held at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park tomorrow (May 8) from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Start the day off by taking the family to the Lions Pancake Breakfast. If you are still hungry, try the Lions mini donuts! Members of the RCMP will be on site with the Child Identification program and the Flea Market will have lots of bargains for everyone.

On Mother's Day (May 9) kids are invited to take their mothers to B.C. Museum of Mining at Britannia Beach for royal treatment anytime between 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Activities for children include copper queen crown crafts, gold panning and a special free gift for mum. The Museum is now open seven days a week but it is a good idea to call ahead through the week (604-896-2233) for tour times as many schools book times until the middle of June.

Students in the district in grades five, six and seven are invited to the Mamquam School Dance fundraiser tonight (May 7) from 6:30 to 9 p.m. for the grade seven Camp Summit trip. The cost is $5 and includes games, prizes and concession.

The RCMP is offering a Theft and Armed Robber presentation for local Squamish business owners, operators and employees on Wednesday (May 12) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Squamish RCMP Detachment at 1000 Finch Drive. Plan on being at the Balding for Dollars at the Squamish Advenutre Centre on Saturday, May 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This annual fundraiser is in support of children with cancer and blood disorders at the B.C. Children's Hospital.

The Spring Fling at St. John's Anglican Church at 1930 Diamond Road tomorrow (May 8) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. has something for everyone. The church will be selling quality Devry Greenhouse items along with perennials for the garden. Pick up a treat at the bake table for Mother's Day and the youth group at the church invite you to top by their concession stand.

The Squamish Environmental Society is sponsoring its monthly bird count on Sunday (May 9) and members are asked to meet at the HOwe Sound Inn and Brewing Company at 7 a.m. This month, they will be looking for new migrant shore birds and warblers. There is complimentary admission for all mums who visit the West Coast Railway Heritage Park on Mother's Day (May 9). The mini-rail will be running and everyone will want to visit the new Roundhouse building.

Tomorrow (May 8) the Women's Auxiliary to Squamish General Hospital will hold their annual Mother's Day draw at the hospital at 12 noon. The first prize winner will receive $250, the second winner, $175, and the third, $100. Your support of this event is much appreciated as all proceeds go towards medical equipment for the hospital.

The Sound Off Toastmasters Club welcomes anyone who would like to improve their speaking and leadership skills. No experience is necessary and the goal is to help members feel more comfortable in front of an audience. The Babes on Bikes Town Tapas Tour event is a social, cruiser-style ride from downtown Squamish to Brackendale and will be held on Tuesday, May 18. It is a fundraiser for the Relay for Life team Brackendale Babes and all funds will be given to the Canadian Cancer Society. This team raised the most money for the event last year ($10 000) and they want to top that amount this year. Tickets are $20 in advance and anyone 19 years of age or older can take part. What is next for the Wild at Arts Festival Society following the successful festival held in February during the Olympics?
