Slow down

Editor,

I have spent the last three years walking and driving my two sons to school, Garibaldi Highlands Elementary (Go Cougars!).

I have spent many a morning shaking my head in utter bewilderment. Why?

The speed limit in a school zone is 30 km/hr. The speed limit is not whatever you feel it is when you are running late.

We all have busy schedules. Today for instance, someone tailgated my car through the school zone and then actually honked at me.

Honked at me to speed up in a school zone? Seriously?

Perth should be designated a 30 km/hr school zone on either side of Portree, perhaps this could be the indicator that it is time to slow down.

I would have thought the multitude of children and parents making their way to school may have been the tip off.

There are more signs indicating the roundabouts on the Boulevard rather than the safety of our children in a school zone.

Anyone else bothered by this? Can we do something?
