The Squamish Gardeners summer social will be held at the Brackendale Art Gallery on Monday (July 18) at 6:45 p.m. This is a potluck (finger foods) event and will include a recap of the recent Garden Tour.

I, along with a few friends dropped by the newly renovated Pearls 2nds on Cleveland Avenue (after reading Meagan Robertson's article this week) and it is a pleasant place to visit and browse. I met store manager Kate Harvey and she said it would be great to have more volunteers, and training is available. The store is open Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Howe Sound Women's Centre is the recipient of all proceeds from Pearls 2nds.

Summer Interpretive Walks with Dawn Green as the leader will begin this month. Anyone interested is asked to register at the Seniors Centre and the cost is $4 for members and $5 for non-members. The first walk is Monday (July 18) and you are asked to meet at the car park at Alice Lake at 9:30 a.m. for the two-hour walk.
