If Mr. Bob Kusch is saying that $15,000 is incurred for weekend maintenance (garbage cleanup) during tournament season, then maybe an increase in user fees could offset some of these costs ["Locals weigh in on budget," The Chief, April 3].
But if Mr. Bob Kusch is saying that $11,500 can be saved by not having tournaments, then his position of Director of Recreation, Parks and Tourism becomes an oxymoron.
Ask the hotel, restaurant and bar owners if the $11,500 incurred during fastball, slo-pitch and soccer tournaments is worth it.
