EDITOR,
Results show that the NDP and Green vote wouldn't have added up enough to beat the Liberals in our West Vancouver-Sea to Sky riding, it is still so dismaying to have observed such a talented and so very environmental Ana Santos (NDP candidate) have to fight for votes against a late-coming Richard Warrington (Green Party).
Wouldn't it be nice if the parties (Green Party, in this case) fought for the broader public interest instead of party interests and acted to avoid vote splitting? Surely, Greens across our province would be MUCH happier if the NDP had won the election given the NDP's very green platform. A sad time for those interested in sustainability... if only the Green Party had put their resources towards key ridings that they were highly likely to win and helped maximize the NDP's chances in ridings such as ours by not running candidates (like Warrington) and causing a vote split.
