Sticks and Stones shines

Business Briefs columnist Lynn Pasko takes a look at Squamish's business world

Everywhere I go, I see flowers! I love it! Every Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. from now until Aug. 29, Cleveland Avenue from Winnipeg to Victoria street will be transformed into a gathering place filled with food, music, family, and friends. Buskers and street entertainers will be stationed throughout the street. Family activities will be scattered along the street. Congratulations to Greg and Carina on their 10-year anniversary of Gelato Carina. To celebrate last Friday night, Greg even had music on the rooftop!

Timberframe and Eric Andersen hosted representatives of Lampert Lumber, a large building products distribution company, with 33 locations and headquarters in Minneapolis. The company is exploring importing of pre-fab timberframe building systems from local firms in the BCR North Yards. They were here to tour manufacturing facilities, demonstration buildings and to get an idea of our industry infrastructure.
