The Squamish Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting in the Squamish Arts Council building on Cleveland Avenue on Thursday (June 9) at 7 p.m. Guest speaker Gordon McKeever will give an update on the Sea to Sky Trail. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Drop by the Brackendale Art Gallery on Sunday (June 5) from 7:30 to 10 p.m. to take part in and enjoy the monthly Acoustic Jam session.

Anyone who would like to try out lawn bowling is invited to the Seniors Centre at 10 a.m. on Tuesday (June 7). The Lawn Bowling Green is a short distance from the centre and games are played on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and Thursday afternoons at 1 p.m. Other times can be arranged if required. Sign up at the Seniors Centre. Pickle Ball is played like table tennis on a small court inside or outside. Lessons will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday (June 8). Please note, the dinner and dance at the Seniors Centre tonight (June 3) has been cancelled.

Meals on Wheels are being offered through the Clock Tower Café in the Seniors Centre and if interested, talk to Gregg at the café. Volunteer drivers are also needed and anyone interested is asked to fill out an application form at the centre or call (604) 848-6898.

The second annual spring concert featuring the Sound Youth Chorus and the Sound Children's Chorus will be held at St. John's Anglican Church tomorrow evening (June 4) at 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door with a suggested donation of $10 for adults and $5 for youth.

The Brackendale Babes is FUNraising again for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Join the team for a casual social ride through Squamish on Tuesday (June 7) from 6 to 9 p.m. (rain or shine!) starting at the oceanfront and ending in Brackendale. Along the way, the babes will wet their whistles at several fine local establishments and at the same time get to know their fellow riders. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased by contacting Babe Gillian at (604) 815-8689 or [email protected].

The carnival is back! West Coast Amusements has brought a different "unit" of its carnival to Squamish than the one that was here in April - which means different rides and attractions. The location is also different -the vacant area along Queen's Way at the west end of Industrial Way. The carnival, run in partnership with the Squamish Elks, runs Friday (June 3) from 3:30 to 10:30 p.m., Saturday (June 4) from noon to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday (June 5) from noon to 6:30 p.m. Some of the proceeds will stay in Squamish to support charities aided by the Elks Club.

The Caregivers Support Group will meet on Wednesday (June 8) from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Seniors Centre.

There is just one week left for students requesting financial assistance through the Howe Sound Performing Arts Association's AME (Access Music Education) to apply. The deadline is Friday (June 10) and application forms are available from the HSPAA website at www.howesoundarts.ca.

It's bingo night at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #277 on Monday (June 6) with doors open at 5:30 p.m.
